Brandon Santana

October 2025

Congratulations to our Teamsters Local 767 Steward Spotlight for the month of October: Brother Brandon Santana!

Brother Santana is a 22.3 Ramp Combo at the DFW UPS facility. He has been a Teamster for 28 years, joining the Union on his very first day at UPS. Since becoming a Steward in 2019, Brandon has consistently shown what it means to be a Teamster.

In addition to his experience signing up new members both outside the building and in new hire classes, he has attended several organizing workshops and used that knowledge to support organizing campaigns and numerous DRIVE campaigns.

Thanks to his strong understanding of the contract and many years of experience, Brother Santana has successfully resolved countless workplace issues. Many of them were handled before they even reached the grievance stage.

Congratulations again to Brother Brandon Santana. You are dependable and consistently showing up for your fellow Union Brothers and Sisters!

Melinda Cargill

The Steward Spotlight for the month of September shines on Danone Teamster, Melinda Cargill.

Sister Melinda works as a team lead in production at Danone, and has served as a Teamsters Local 767 steward for 7 years. Over the course of her stewardship, Melinda has successfully resolved 150-200 grievances and has proven to be a trusted union advocate and a steady presence for workers in need of support.

Melinda has played a key role in two consecutive contract negotiations at Danone, helping to secure a fair contract and protect worker rights. Melinda has also taken part in a practice strike at Danone, as well as an official strike at Amazon. In addition, she has also assisted with organizing campaigns on various occasions for new Teamsters Local 767 members.

Sister Melinda has participated in two Joint Area Council hearings, gaining valuable experience in union proceedings. She consistently shows up at the shop for hearings and is always willing to help wherever needed, whether it is during her working hours or not.

Congratulations and a huge thank you to Sister Melinda for always being a helping hand and putting in the energy and effort to make this union stronger.

Mike "big Mike" Stewart

Teamsters Local 767 is proud to shine our Steward Spotlight on Mike "Big Mike" Stewart for the month of August. Brother Stewart has been a UPS Teamster for 35 years. He is currently a 22.3 Day Sort Shifter in the Dallas Facility, though he's looking forward to returning to the Mesquite building.

Brother Stewart has been a steward for a little over a year, but has aided his fellow Brother and Sisters for numerous years. He has successfully solved more grievances than he can count, but the ones that mean the most to him are the ones that protect our part time Brothers and Sisters, whom he believes are often overlooked by the company.

"Big Mike" has been involved in multiple Teamsters Local 767 events and campaigns. He is a member of D.R.I.V.E, and believes that it is an essential tool for our union to use to ensure that our government knows we are here, united, and committed to staying strong.

Brother Stewart helped fight for his fellow members during the UPS Strike of 1997. He states that "I was more than happy to walk the line for what I felt like we deserved. I am proud to say I have answered the call anytime I have been needed, for whatever the need." His unwavering involvement in the daily guarantee grievances for the Dallas day sort has brought well deserved money to the Brothers and Sisters that might have not known their rights or who were worried about retaliation from the Company. Brother Stewart was instrumental in helping secure (alongside Business Agent, Brandon Hubbard) daily guarantee settlements for the Dallas Day Sort totaling over $187,000.

Please join us in congratulating "Big Mike" Stewart. Thank you for being a phenomenal example of what it means to be a Teamster, a steward, and role model for fellow Stewards and Members.
